Love is like an emerald whose radiance repels dragons.
On his deathbed, Rumi recited a poem in which he recounted a dream he’d had the previous night. Rumi had dreamt that he beheld an old man standing in the garden of love, who beckoned to him and bade him approach, saying that if a dragon should obstruct the path, “love works like an emerald”.
